Menstrual Hygiene and SRHR Awareness for Adolescent Girls
For many adolescent girls in Cox's Bazar, a lack of information and supplies means missed school days and health risks. Through our community-level awareness and advocacy project (CLAAP), HEART runs sessions on sexual and reproductive health and rights and distributes menstrual hygiene kits.
Sessions take place in courtyards, schools and community spaces so that girls, mothers and community leaders can talk openly about health, hygiene and safety.
Building on the work
The project led to further work on health education for adolescent and young women (EISOW) and on awareness for newborn babies and lactating mothers, carried out with a global SRHR network.
